How Does Shipping Work?
ModernThings curates products from across the world that are designed and crafted by only the best manufactures and craftsmen. Each has been meticulously screened and selected to ensure the highest quality products imaginable.
We partner with only the best manufacturers and small businesses to bring you the absolute best products. However, some products, due to the nature of our partnerships, may come directly from one of our global partners. This will sometime slow shipping times and may take up to 6 - 10 days to arrive. It is through this way that we are able to bring you the absolute best products at amazing prices; sometimes slashing up to 300% off potential markup.
If a product is coming from a global partner and will take longer than our average 6-10 days, we will specifically state that on the product page. Most products however will arrive within 6-10 business days.
All orders are processed within 1 - 3 business days.
All orders are shipped Monday - Friday. If orders are placed on or after 5:00 pm on a weekday then your order will be processed the following day. If placed on the weekend, it shall be processed on the beginning of the first business work day.
Shipping time is based on business days (including expedited shipping services)
The cut-off time for 2-3 day express shipments is 12 PM PST. Orders placed after 12 PM PST that ship overnight or express may not be processed the same day.
You will receive a shipping notification (to the e-mail address provided on your order) that will notify you of the shipping carrier and your tracking information.
All of our domestic orders are shipped with either DHL, FedEx or the United States Postal Service (USPS). Shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, APO/FPO, PO Boxes, and US Territories will be shipped via US Postal Service.

I JUST PLACED AN ORDER, WHEN WILL I GET IT?
Please allow 2 - 4 business days for us to process your order and 4 - 15 to receive it.
HOW LONG ARE SHIPPING TIMEs?
U.S orders will be shipped via USPS, DHL or FedEX and International Orders will be shipped USPS.
- Average transit times to the United States: 6 -10 days but please give packages up to 2 weeks to arrive due to potential COVID -19 related shipping delays.
- Average transit times to International: 2 weeks
There are times when circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, holidays, weather, etc) may cause shipping delays. While most packages will arrive on time, there are some circumstances when our carriers may experience heavy delays. For this reason, we do not guarantee the exact delivery time. You will need to contact the shipping company to locate where your package is.
WILL I RECEIVE A TRACKING NUMBER?
Of course! We provide tracking numbers for all of our orders to put your mind at ease. After your order is placed, we will process payment and the order within 1 - 3 days. After the order is processed, tracking will be available once your order is shipped. At times, individual products may be shipped from various fulfillment centers around the world. This is to ensure that you receive the absolute best price available and get your package as quickly as possible.
After you receive your tracking number, if you would like to track your order, go to our homepage and in the navigation menu, click Track Order. Here you will be able to enter your tracking information and find where your order is located. Please do this before reaching out to support about your orders location.
CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?
It is possible to cancel your order within 24 hours of placing the order. After 24 hours, or if your order has already been shipped, you will need to contact support at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please place in the subject line your Order Number and "Cancel Order". Someone will get back to you within 1 - 2 business days and your order should be refunded within 2 - 5 business days, depending on your bank.
I HAVE ENTERED AN INCORRECT ADDRESS!
If you have misspelled or auto-filled your address incorrectly, simply reply to your order confirmation email and give us the correct information. Notify us immediately via email at email@example.com. If the address is wrong, we can correct this within 24 hours.
MY ITEM ARRIVED DAMAGED
We do ship every item with extra padding. Despite this, our customers report that around 1 in 1000 products arrives damaged due to mail service mistreatment.
